Announcement of a Major Revision of National Accounts
In accordance with the Harmonized European Revision Policy (HERP), the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina plans to conduct a benchmark revision of national accounts statistics in 2025.
Despite limited human resources, the National Accounts Department has successfully finalized the revision of the annual GDP using the expenditure approach. The revision will cover the period from 2000 to 2024. The goal of the revision is to improve the accuracy and consistency of the national accounts, achieved through methodological enhancements accumulated during IPA projects supported by the European Union and Eurostat to the Agency for Statistics of BiH, as well as through the implementation of the new Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose (COICOP 2018).
Following the completion of the annual GDP revision using the expenditure approach, the revision of the quarterly GDP using the same approach will follow. On this occasion, we inform our users that the publication of the second quarter (Q2) GDP data using the expenditure approach will be postponed. The revised Q2 data, aligned with the COICOP 2018 classification, will be published together with the third quarter (Q3) data, scheduled for December 31, 2025.
