Enumerators' Training for the 2026 Pilot Census of Agriculture Successfully Completed in Brčko
Today, a three-day training programme for enumerators engaged in the implementation of the 2026 Pilot Census of Agriculture was successfully completed in Brčko. The training took place from 10 to 12 June 2026.
During the training, enumerators were introduced to the methodology of conducting the pilot census, the questionnaire content, field data collection procedures, and the use of electronic devices for data entry. Particular attention was given to proper communication with holders of agricultural holdings, as well as to the application of statistical standards and data confidentiality principles.
This training represents an important part of the preparations for the upcoming field activities, during which the statistical institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina will conduct the Pilot Census of Agriculture with the aim of testing the methodology, organisational and IT solutions, as well as the procedures that will be applied during the future census.
The Pilot Census of Agriculture will be carried out from 15 to 19 June 2026 within the framework of the project “Support to the Census of Agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.” It is being implemented by the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Office of Statistics of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Republic of Srpska Institute of Statistics.
The pilot census will cover a total of 16 enumeration areas across Bosnia and Herzegovina: five in the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina, six in the Municipality of Čelić, and five in the City of Bijeljina.
Data will be collected by authorised enumerators through direct interviews with holders and members of agricultural holdings, using electronic questionnaires on tablet devices. The purpose of the pilot census is to test the functionality of all phases of the census process, including the organisation of fieldwork, the application of questionnaires, electronic data collection, and data processing procedures.
All data collected during the pilot census will be used exclusively for statistical purposes and will be protected in accordance with the applicable regulations governing the confidentiality of statistical data.
