Announcement of a Major Revision of Gross Domestic Product Data
The Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Institute for Statistics and the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics inform users that they will carry out a revision of the time series of annual gross domestic product (GDP) data for the period from 2000 to 2025.
The revision is being carried out within the framework of the IPA 2022 Multi-beneficiary Statistical Cooperation Programme (IPA MBP 2022), with the aim of further improving the quality of national accounts and their alignment with the methodological requirements of the European System of Accounts (ESA 2010).
The revision is the result of joint work by the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Institute for Statistics and the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics, with expert support provided through the IPA MBP 2022 project.
The revision includes the implementation of methodological improvements, enhanced compilation procedures and improved data sources developed during the implementation of the IPA MBP 2022 project. As part of the revision, an improved methodology for calculating financial intermediation services indirectly measured (FISIM) will be applied, along with other methodological improvements. The scope of the revision has been adapted to previously implemented methodological improvements, the availability of data sources and the characteristics of individual statistical series.
The revision will further improve the quality, consistency and international comparability of gross domestic product data according to the production, income and expenditure approaches, while ensuring their continued alignment with European statistical standards.
The revised gross domestic product data series will be published in accordance with the release calendars for the final 2025 GDP data of the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Institute for Statistics and the Republika Srpska Institute of Statistics.
