World Statistics Day - “Connecting the world with data we can trust”
Today we mark World Statistics Day. The Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in cooperation with the Institute for Statistics of the Federation of BiH and the Institute for Statistics of Republika Srpska, joins the global initiative of the United Nations Statistical Commission in observing the World Statistics Day to highlight the value of official statistics.
The first World Statistics Day was celebrated in 2010 and, according to United Nations General Assembly resolution 69/282, adopted in July 2015, World Statistics Day is observed on 20 October, every fifth year.
This year's World Statistics Day, third in a row, is observed all over the world, under the slogan "Connecting the world with data we can trust".
On this occasion, Ms. Vesna Ćužić, acting director of the Agency for Statistics of BiH, congratulates the World Statistics Day to all statisticians, data providers, and users, pointing out that the objective and mission of the Agency for Statistics of BiH is to provide reliable, high quality, user-friendly, timely and comprehensive statistics by applying European and international standards.
