The sixth wave of updating the statistical master sample frame in BiH
As of December 1st, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina will start conducting the sixth wave of updating the main sample frame, having an ultimate goal to increase the volume and quality of statistical data in Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as their further harmonization with EU standards.
The updating will be conducted by the listing of selected households (primary sampling units), based on defined methodology, which includes a questionnaire, prepared by three statistical institutions in BiH. The questionnaire contains questions about persons (the name and surname, sex, date of birth, educational attainment, and similar) and occupancy status of the dwellings. The listing is conducted quarterly, and the updating activity is foreseen to last over the course of three years in total, with an already defined structure and the number of enumeration areas.
The listing will be conducted by trained enumerators and controllers who will carry appropriate accreditations with them.
In order to protect the health of enumerators and respondents in the field, the enumerators will follow recommended measures during the survey, such as the mandatory wearing of protective face-masks, maintaining physical distancing and the others.
Due to the importance of the activity, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina calls on the population to cooperate actively in the implementation of this important survey. The Agency guarantees that, in accordance with the law on statistics and law on the protection of personal data, the answers to questions will be strictly confidential, and collected data will be used for statistical purposes only.
