Portal "Demographic Resilience"
The European Statistical Community has been celebrating October 20th as the European Statistics Day since 2016, when this day was first officially observed in Budapest. This initiative was launched by the European Statistical Advisory Committee (ESAC) with the support of the European Statistical System (ESS) and the European System of Central Banks.
This 8th European Statistics Day is held under the motto "Statistics for better development in a fast-changing world". It represents an excellent opportunity to emphasize the importance of official statistics in making informed decisions and encouraging public discussions.
Official statistics maintain their essential role as a reliable source of data, providing valuable insights into trends, patterns, and behaviours, ultimately leading to improved decision-making processes and better public policies at all levels of government. It promotes social and economic development while helping to combat misinformation.
In this context, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina is dedicated to strengthening the role of official statistics.
Fulfilling its mission of producing and disseminating statistical data, the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in collaboration with UNFPA, has developed a portal on "Demographic Resilience" that provides valuable data on the demographic situation and human capital (population data, natural population movements, population projections, education, labour market conditions, etc.).
The presented data will be helpful for policymakers in the fields of development and demography in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as a broader range of users.
