Surveys on crop and livestock production in BiH
The Agency for Statistics of BiH, in cooperation with the Entities' statistical institutes, conducts two regular statistical surveys in agriculture in December, on a sample created from the Population and Housing Census in BiH 2013: Survey on agricultural production - Crop production 2020 and Survey on agriculture production - livestock production 2020.
About 100 interviewers and controllers, accredited by the Agency for Statistics of BiH, the Institute of Statistics of FBiH, and the Institute for Statistics of RS, will be conducting the surveys on a representative sample of 15.200 randomly selected family agricultural holdings. At the same time, survey questionnaires will be sent to 2 136 legal entities and entrepreneurs by post service.
Statistical institutions kindly ask the holders of family agricultural holdings, responsible persons in legal entities and entrepreneurs for active cooperation in the implementation of these important surveys and guarantee that, in accordance with the laws on statistics and law on personal data protection, answers to survey questions will be strictly confidential, respondents will remain completely anonymous, and collected data will be used exclusively for statistical purposes.
In Brcko District, 986 family agricultural holdings and 112 legal entities and entrepreneurs will be interviewed.
Taking into account the epidemiological situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Agency for Statistics of BiH has decided to conduct surveys by phone in Brcko District, instead of direct interviews with the households. To obtain better data quality, the survey activity will be implemented through two phases. During the first phase, the interviewers will visit sample households to update telephone numbers, having minimal contacts with the heads of households, without entering the houses/apartments and adhering to all epidemiological measures. During the second phase, the interviewers will collect data on agricultural production in BiH from the heads or adult members of the households by phone.
