1. What are the responsibilities of the Agency for Statistics of BiH?
Under Article 8 of the Law on Statistics of BiH (Official Gazette of BiH No. 26/04 and 42/04), the Agency for Statistics of BiH is the body responsible for processing, distribution and determination of statistical data in BiH. 2. Is it possible to get the document on the declaration of national affiliation upon the Census 2013?
The Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina is not able to give any kind of documentation on the declaration of national affiliation the Census 2013.
In accordance with the Law on Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Official Gazette of BiH No. 26/04 and 42/04), the Law on the Census of population, households and dwelling in Bosnia and Herzegovina 2013 (Official Gazette of BiH No. 10/12 and 18/13), on the basis of Article 16 which reads as follows: “Data collected by the Census shall be used for statistics purposes only” as well as Law on Personal Data Protection (Official Gazette of BiH No. 49/06), the Agency for Statistics of BiH treats data collected from the Census, as strictly confidential and uses them only for the statistical purposes.

4. How are collected data on prices in BiH?
The Agency for Statistics of BiH is following and publishing average consumers prices from December 2009.
All prices are being collected locally by collectors from the entity statistical institutions and the Agency for Statistics of BiH, that receive clear specifications of the item names, its COICOP code and unit of measure that they should collect in the specific outfield. Prices are being collected in twelve locations (cities) in the country, chosen by the criterion of population and their importance with respect to the geographical areas they belong to. Such collected data is being processed and afterwards published.

Average consumers price index in BiH is with VAT. The Agency for Statistics of BiH does not have data on average consumers price index without VAT.
5. What data does the Statistical Business Register contain?
The Agency for Statistics of BiH publishes data about the number of enterprises (no entrepreneurs) classified by Economic Activities, Classes of employees and Classes of turnover, based on administrative data of the Business Registers, Annual Financial Reports, the Central Register of the transaction accounts of the Central Bank BiH and statistical survey results.
It is important to emphasize that the Agency for Statistics of BiH maintains a statistical, not an administrative, register. In accordance with the Law on Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina (“Official Gazette of BiH” No. 26/04 and 42/04) and the Law on the Classification of activities in BiH (“Official Gazette of BiH” No. 76/06, 100/08 and 32/10), the data from the Statistical Business Register with the list of business entities in BiH classified by activities they perform, are considered confidential. Data contained in the Statistical Business Register, according to the Regulation (EC) 177/2008, are used exclusively for statistical purposes within the statistical system.

6. Where can population data be found?
The Agency for Statistics of BiH, in a comprehensive way represents official statistical data on the population for Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Thematic Bulletin – Demography. In accordance with the Law on Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina (“Official Gazette of BiH” No. 26/04 and 42/04) the Agency for Statistics of BiH has the competence to compile and publish statistical data for Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with the internationally accepted methodology, based on data from the entities statistical office, the Brčko District of BiH and other institutions at the level of BiH.

7. What does the average gross and net earnings include?
Data on average monthly gross and net earnings are monitored by a regular monthly survey on employees and wages (RAD – 1).
Average monthly paid off net earning comprise income of a person in employment earned for work done during regular working hours as well as annual leave, paid leave, public holidays and day-offs as prescribed by law, the sickness which are paid by the employer, absence for continuing professional education, during the lay-off and job stop caused against person’s will and of no fault of his own.
Average monthly gross earnings comprise net income of a person in employment plus mandatory allocations from gross earning prescribed by law (contributions from gross earning and advance payment of income tax).

8. What data do the education statistics show?
The Agency for Statistics of BiH aggregates and publishes data obtained by statistical researches on education conducted by entity statistical offices and Branch Office of the Agency for Statistics of BiH in Brčko District of BiH.
Education statistics show data on the condition, structure and development of schools (primary, secondary and higher education institutions), as well as data on the structures of pupils/students and teachers, on school results and the factors affecting them.

9. What statistical data on tourism is published by the Agency?
The Agency for Statistics of BiH monitors tourist activity realized in accommodation establishments and provides internationally comparable statistical data on tourism in BiH, in accordance with applying EU Regulations for the tourism statistics.
Data on tourism statistics that are published:
- Tourist arrivals and nights;
- Foreign tourist arrivals and nights, by country of residence;
- Tourist arrivals and nights according to the classification of activities;
- Structure of tourist nights according to the classification of activities (domestic and foreign tourists);
- The average number of nights per arrival.
Data on tourist’s turnover (number of tourist arrivals and tourist nights) and accommodation facilities are collected with the regular monthly report (TU – 11 form). Reports are usually made on the basis of reception records in guest books, entities and their parts engaged in organizing and arranging of tourists.

10. What is the PRODCOM industry results-oriented to?
The Thematic Bulletin on industrial production – PRODCOM is a result of publications of the Agency for Statistics of Bosnia and Herzegovina which shows official statistical data on the industrial production by products at the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Regular collection and processing of annual data on industrial production in BiH is based on the use of a single Nomenclature of Industrial Products of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is regularly harmonized with the relevant regulations and nomenclatures of the European Union, as well as on the application of a unique methodological approach.
PROCOM survey is product-oriented and provides data related to the volume of the production, volume and value of sales of industrial production at the level of individual products from the nomenclature of industrial products.
